Integr8
Structural Lintel Shutters
Security shutters are often considered after the main building design has already been established. For new-build projects, Integr8 offers a different approach.

Specialists in Security
Integr8 combines the structural lintel, concealed shutter system and integrated side guides within one coordinated solution, allowing physical security to be incorporated into the building from an early stage without compromising its architectural appearance.
This creates a cleaner finished opening and allows the shutter system to be coordinated with the building structure from the outset.
One Structural System.
Three Integrated Components.
Unlike a conventional roller shutter with a visible external headbox and guides, Integr8 is incorporated into the fabric of the building during construction.
The system brings together three main components, each performing a different role within the finished installation.

Integrated Side-Guide Cavity Closers
The insulated cavity closer and shutter guide assembly is installed within the wall construction around the opening.
It helps address insulation and damp protection requirements while also providing the concealed path for the shutter curtain.

Structural Shutter Lintel
The lintel supports the structural loading above the opening while also housing the shutter barrel and associated components.
This removes the need for a conventional external shutter headbox, allowing the system to remain largely hidden when the shutter is raised.

Security Shutter Curtain
The shutter curtain is installed later in the construction programme as a second-fix item, with access provided through an internal maintenance panel.
This allows the structural elements to be incorporated earlier in the build, with the shutter system completed when the project is ready for final installation.
Why Integrate the Shutter at Design Stage?
Planning the shutter system as part of the building from the beginning can simplify both the appearance and coordination of the finished opening.
Cleaner architectural finish
The shutter housing and guides are concealed within the building fabric, avoiding the prominent headboxes and guide channels associated with conventional roller shutters.
Better coordination during construction
The structural lintel, wall construction and shutter requirements can be considered together rather than resolved separately later in the project.
Practical installation and maintenance
The structural components can be installed during construction, with the shutter curtain fitted later. Internal access also allows the system to be maintained without prominent external access panels.
Adapted to the project
Dimensions, finishes and structural requirements can be considered as part of the specification process, allowing the system to suit the individual building rather than being treated as a standard add-on.

Structural Security in Practice
The Bobby Moore Sports Hub required increased physical security across extensive glazed areas while maintaining the contemporary appearance of the building.
A total of 24 Integr8 Structural shutters were supplied in varying sizes, with the shutter finish coordinated with the surrounding façade.
Early coordination allowed the concealed lintels to be incorporated above the window and door openings, including around the nine-metre glazed span at the café and community area.
The completed project shows how the shutter system can provide physical security without dominating the building façade.
Bring Integr8 into the Project at the Right Stage
Integr8 Structural Lintel Shutters are intended for new-build applications and need to be considered during the structural development of the building.
Bringing Charter Global into the project early allows the lintel, opening and shutter requirements to be coordinated before construction reaches the point where changes become more difficult.
Charter Global can provide early-stage technical guidance and project-specific support to help integrate the system into the wider building design.
