The Client:
As a centre of excellence in delivering aerodynamic capabilities to the aviation sector, our client’s facilities span a range of dedicated areas, including the testing of critical components for the defence sector.
As part of their work, our client advises both civil and military aerospace companies which warrants them having a security risk level equivalent to that of a critical national industry establishment.
The Case:
As many of the components made are for the UK defence supply chain, they needed to work with a security partner that not only manufactures high security roller shutters to NPSA level accreditation, but also one that understands the sensitivities of their business.
Charter Global met their criteria and have extensive experience in this sector, having worked within the defence industry for many decades. A free, no obligation site survey was carried out and as Charter Global’s project and installation team uses security cleared engineers, they operate within the security standards expected for this type of project.
The Solution:
An Obexion MD XR high-security shutter was specified for the project. This product is listed in the NPSA Catalogue of Security Equipment (CSE) and approved for UK Government use—so our client was confident they were meeting the required security standards.
After a comprehensive survey, detailed site-specific working drawings were produced, including electrical plans, working schedules and timescales, and care was taken to ensure the product integrated into the building and the site access control systems.
Clients retain control of specification until official sign-off and approval and once completed Charter Global’s engineers swiftly installed the Obexion MD XR. Future servicing and maintenance and any emergency repairs are covered by their Total Care aftersales support service.
About the product:
The Obexion MD XR NPSA shutter is a highly robust product that utilises a patented composite core within the lath. This ensures that a high level of security can be achieved without resulting in an unnecessarily heavy shutter.
It also has the added feature of Charter Global’s unique LockDown technology. This means that the shutter requires no auxiliary locking to maintain the security rating and also ensures that the shutter can never be left in an insecure position.
