Our client was based in Khartoum, Sudan, where it is standard practice for properties to have insect screens over all windows and doors to protect from both insects and sandstorms.
Our team developed a bespoke dual side guide to cater for the insect screen and the Equilux security shutter. The shutter and the screen operate independently and the bottom of the screen slots into a recess in the windowsill to ensure the opening is fully protected.
A commercial property storing valuable goods required a layered approach to security for vehicle entrances, windows and personnel entrance.
In addition to the Obexion SR3 security shutters over all openings, multiple SR3 door sets with fire ratings and panic escape hardware were installed for personnel doors.
To give a very obvious visual deterrent during working hours, bespoke window grilles were manufactured to complement the Obexion roller shutters.
It’s understandable that a luxury retail jeweller in London would require security shutters to protect the store after hours, but they also had a specific requirement for a fire curtain.
Due to the specific design layout of the space with an attractive glass atrium spanning 2 levels, the upstairs area required a separate fire curtain to reduce the risk of fire spreading between floors.
